Ollie & Moon Show Premiere Trailer

For Ollie & Moon’s show premiere, I had the privilege of working on the Show Premiere trailer and was given the brief that it should look as if Ollie & Moon were flipping through a photobook of their various adventures. To preserve the tone and aesthetic, I decided a toon-shaded look would be appropriate for the flipbook and animated and textured this in C4D. Vincent provided cel-animations of Ollie & Moon’s hands pointing through the spot and under Brandon and Luciano’s creative mandate I had fun with this.

Lots of keyframes and careful attention to the timing was put in to ensure all elements synced together. I relished the opportunity work in the 2D-aesthetic since it’s something different from photorealism or VFX comps over live footage.

Stills & Screens

Despite the short turn-around this was a very enjoyable project to work on. It was nice to switch gears and tackle a different style of 3D in a 2D cartoon aesthetic. Working with both the AD and CD was enjoyable as they took my notes and ideas in serious consideration which drove the process. The head creative at the network, Nancy Mazzei – the SVP at Sprout Network was very pleased and said this is more of what they needed to compete with Nickelodeon. That direct compliment was the cherry on top of the enjoyable experience I had working with the creative department at Sprout Network.
